    Danang ⇆ Lang Co

    Hai Van Discovery

Departing from Da Nang to the slow, steady whistle of the train, you leave the city behind and enter one of the most spectacular coastal rail routes in the world. The Revolution Express traces the curve of Da Nang Bay before slowly climbing the legendary Hai Van Pass — where you’ll marvel at time-worn tunnels carved straight through the mountain and brick viaducts dating back to the French colonial era, witnesses to over a century of Vietnamese railway history.

At the summit, a brief stop invites you to take in sweeping panoramic views: emerald mountains meeting sapphire sea, with hidden sandy coves stretching along the coastline to the horizon. The train continues its descent along the narrow-gauge track, winding through hairpin curves hugging the mountainside, delivering breathtaking scenery you won’t soon forget — before bringing you into Lang Co.

    Hue ⇆ Lang Co

    Reflections of Hue

Leaving Hue’s historic railway station — built in 1906, just moments from the Perfume River and within sight of the Imperial Citadel — you drift away from the contemplative ancient capital toward the coast. Old French-built bridges and rice paddies slip past the window as the city’s edges give way to quiet hamlets, where the Perfume River finally meets the sea.

Ahead, Lap An Lagoon opens up in still, mirror-like waters, reflecting the forested peaks of Bach Ma National Park. Oyster beds glint just beneath the surface, and fishermen cast their nets into their own reflections — the journey’s most contemplative moment, a quiet pause before the final stretch.

Rounding the lagoon’s edge, Lang Co comes into view: a peaceful coastal fishing village, and the last stop at “Independence” station — a fitting close to a journey that begins in departure and settles, mile by mile, into the reflections of Central Vietnam.

    Danang ⇆ Hue

    Central Coast Explorer

Rain or shine, the Central Vietnam coastline unfolds before you on Revolution Express’s heritage steam train. Each carriage is a warm, sheltered space of its own, set apart from whatever the weather brings outside — leaving you free to settle in and let the scenery carry you along, from the spectacular Hai Van Pass to timeless, contemplative Hue, all within a single journey, a single day.

The train departs Kim Lien Station (Da Nang) and climbs slowly toward the legendary Hai Van Pass, then pauses briefly at “Independence” station in Lang Co — where the locomotive takes on fresh coal and a refreshed boiler, a natural breath between chapters of the journey. From here, the tracks lead you through scenery no single-leg journey touches: the vast Tam Giang – Cau Hai lagoon system, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, stretching beneath the shadow of the Truong Son mountain range. Then Hue emerges, quiet and ancient, as the train pulls into the historic station built in 1906, just moments from the Perfume River.

One day. One train. The mountains, the coast, the lagoons, and the ancient capital — all within reach, whatever the weather.
